Time To Heal
In which I am forced to rest a bit because I am a klutz.
I cracked my elbow against the wall yesterday while I was puttering around the house, and I am whiny about it. It’s my left elbow, so thankfully, I can still paint, but typing is not comfortable at all because I keep forgetting that my elbow feels like shattered glass when I lean it against something hard, and the way I have things set up in my studio = I have to rest my elbow on a hard surface in order to type.
So, I’m not going to do much more of THAT for a day or two.
Note to self: Do not rest your elbow on hard surfaces to you can prop your face up while watching youtube tutorials. You will not love the consequences.
Harrumph.
Yesterday’s Cosmic Weather and Tiny Spell still apply today until the moon slides on over into Taurus at around 10:30 p.m. EDT tonight, so I’m going to refer you over there for that.
If you’re in Moonshine Lite over on Patreon, your lesson for August went up this morning once I confirmed that pledges cleared! ENJOY!
Meanwhile, If you’re new here and you wonder why I post the moon phase and sign most days, let me explain:
I work with the moon sign and phase in my creative practice as a prompt but also as energy I can draw on in the attainment of my desires. If I’m painting, I have a desired outcome in mind, like a change in my emotional state, or a calling in of wisdom about something I’m grappling with. Sometimes I paint to express gratitude or devotion to the powers that be. Sometimes I paint to call in healing or abundance or clarity.
This is something I’ve been doing for decades, so its woven in to pretty much everything I teach.
Since it’s such a huge part of what I do, and since a LOT of you are new here (HI!), I thought it would be fun to share exactly how I work with the moon in my own practice, so I made you something.
Many, if not most, spiritual modalities include the moon in some way, shape, or form, so I consider working in this way pretty universal. Symbolic systems, like moon phases and signs, can be useful portals, or “ways in” to our creative practice because they give us a jumping off point. Having some kind of shape to consider before we start painting can eliminate that deer-in-the-headlights experience some of us encounter when we want to create but we aren’t feeling inspired, or we’re too scattered to settle our thoughts.
A quick glance at the moon phase and sign can nudge us to begin.
I hope it serves you well. :)
On that note, I’m going to ice this elbow and try to keep it up off hard surfaces long enough for it to heal.
See you again soon,
P.S. It would be so lovely of you to leave a comment or a like so I know you’re out there!

New here… I am feeling so much gratitude for you and all that you share. I believe we are kindred spirits in regards to our relationship with the moon. Being a visual learner, I am excited to use your Painting with the Moon primer. Thank you 🌻
Oh your poor elbow! I hope you’re feeling better 💕
